About us...

We want to bring people together – to re-love the unloved, decaying, abandoned properties lying empty throughout the country.

EmptyBuildings is different from probably every other property website you’ve used before.

Our properties are different – different, in that you can’t move into most of them; you probably won’t get a standard mortgage on many of our properties. If you don’t have vision – we’re probably not right for you.

Our aim is to bring people with imagination together to re-love neglected, abandoned and derelict properties. Whether that’s transforming a ruin back into a stunning family home, creating a shopping centre or bringing a block of flats back from the brink of demolition.

Not all of our listings are necessarily for sale. Due to the diverse nature of the properties we list, it is often difficult to establish the property owner or even if they want to sell. Where known, we list a property’s status.

People are creative and inventive – an old warehouse transformed and brought back into the community in many different ways – a business hub, commercial on the ground floor and flats above, a film set or a photo shoot. There is no limit to imagination.

We believe that properties, whatever their state or availability should be listed. A conversation between parties can result in an agreement that works for everyone: not only for those directly involved in the transaction but to benefit the wider community at large.

There are opportunities everywhere to provide quality housing. City centres and the high street are broken throughout the country – maybe you know how to improve them? The properties are out there waiting – use your imagination and build yourself, and those around you, a better future.

Derelict Shop to Four Bedroom House plus shop

My love of old buildings

That's me, back in the 1970s – I've been waiting for years to use this pic! I was going to go for a black and white photo – a professional photoshoot, looking pensive. I decided against it – it just wasn't Insta ready! Not everyone can rock a green collar on tartan. My only regret is you can't appreciate the depth of that collar!
